 | Fritschi Axion 82 Crampon

These retractable AT crampons mount in seconds, deploy with the flick of a ski pole and deactivate with the push of a pole tip. They can be mounted at the start of a tour so you don?t have to stop mid-slope to fit crampons. On long, exposed traverses or refrozen, straight-up skin tracks, flip down the tempered tines to dig into hard, firm snow. If you come to a downhill section, use your pole to flip the crampon back underfoot until needed again. These are compatible only with 2004 and later Fritschi Diamir Freeride, Explore and Express bindings. The Axion 82 Long Crampon has extra long tines for increased bite on steep slopes. |
